Legendary Monster Varan.

Varan’s existance was first discovered in 1972 during an expedition to one of the islands in Indonesia. The members of the expedition were shocked to say the least when they came face to face with this enormous prehistoric creature. With only a few casualties they managed to get off the island and report their discovery to the rest of the world.

No operation of killing Varan has ever been planned, mainly because the creature has never shown any signs of leaving it’s island, even though it has the ability of doing so, and only shows signs of aggression whenever someone disturbs it’s peaceful life. An example of this was when Varan sank a cruiser that had anchored by the island. Once angered, Varan is practically impossible to stop. When Godzilla landed on it’s island in 2027, Varan immediately attacked the much larger monster king.

Abilities:

- It’s webbed toes and strong crocodile-like tail makes Varan a highly adept swimmer.

- It can spread out folds of skin attached to its movable ribs to form "wings" that it uses to glide, although somewhat clumsily, over short distances, very much like the small "flying dragons" living in asian rain forests.
