Super Robot Jet Jaguar

Just recently I watched Godzilla vs Megalon, the movie that is by most fans considered to be one of the worst Godzilla films of all time. I really had no expectations of it whatsoever, but as I sat and watched it, I found myself actually somewhat enjoying it. Now don't get me wrong here. It was definitely a BAD movie with a lot of cringe worthy moments, but I still liked it despite all the flaws that it had.

I especially liked Jet Jaguar, Toho's Ultraman rip off, who made me think of the early super robot shows, like Mazinger Z and Getter Robo, that came out at about the same time that the film was being released. And what made me draw this picture here was basically the thought; “What if Jet Jaguar had been made into his own super robot robot anime?”

“Having been created by the young genius inventor Goro Ibuki, Jet Jaguar must now use all of his incredible powers to protect his family, as well as the rest of humanity, against the Earth conquering schemes of the Seatopian empire and the evil hordes of the Nebula Space Hunter M. Not to mention all the other fearsome beasts out to destroy the world!”

Then we also have the human cast: Goro Ibuki, the man behind the technical wonder that is Jet Jaguar. To his left we have his younger brother, Rokuro Ibuki, the plucky comic relief character and kid sidekick that you more often than not you just want to strangle. On a completely different note, to the right we have Hiroshi Jinkawa, Goro's best friend/assistant/ bodyguard. He is the guy that does the most ass kicking out of the group and I tried to model his looks after Ryoma Nagare from the Getter Robo franchise, one of the most awesome mecha pilots of all time in my opinion. I also added in a random hippie girl for no other reason than to not make the whole thing a complete sausage fest.
