Here's a few designs I made of the Big G recently.
Dino Godzilla:
I was inspired to do this one after I recently watched a short documentary about the production behind the first Godzilla movie. One of the things they showed was a picture of the very first sculpture of how they imagined the monster to look like, and he had a noticably more dinosaurian feel to him than what he later ended up with in the actual movie. Here I enhanced some of those qualities and made a design that looks much more like how the theropods would often look like in old dinosaur films, walking upright and with the tail dragging behind it. Out of these three, this one is my favorite.
Slim Godzilla:
This one is the complete opposite of the previous one, being a lot slimmer and built more for speed. I guess it's pretty obvious that this one is heavily influenced by the American design, while still keeping the more recognicable things from the original Japanese.
Classic Godzilla:
This one is pretty traditional and not much is changed from the original, but I wanted to try and make a Godzilla that looks pretty traditional, which is something I don't often do. Here I tried to make him look like his showa appearance from the early to mid sixties. A little chubby compared to how I usually make him, but I like this one.
Impressive take on the various styles. Slim looks more active which is fitting but Dino knows he's ready to tear some heads off for looking at him funny. Classic looks like he kinda doesn't know what to do with himself but thats alright as he's good mix of everything.

It's not that I don't like society, It's that I've been forced to live out side of it due to the over whelming force of: conservatives, conformists, liberals, republicans, democrats, enviromentalists, terrorists, right wingers, religous zealots, media...
I commend you for thinking outside the raptor/T-rex box.
The end result is definitely VERY interesting. I like seeing an exploration of his design while still keeping his crucial traits in mind. You do NOT see that much these days.

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article.
In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
Have a great time everyone and please fav this article so as many people can see the featured works. I would recommend seeing each one and faving them too.
